SugarCRM Integration

Connect SalesPartner to SugarCRM to log notes on your contact records automatically. Keep your CRM current after every conversation.

Why Connect SugarCRM?

If your team manages contacts and accounts in SugarCRM, this keeps your records updated without manual work.

When SalesPartner talks to a lead, it logs a note directly on the matching SugarCRM contact record. Your team sees the full conversation history without leaving SugarCRM.

What you get:

  • No manual entry — Notes appear in SugarCRM after every interaction
  • Full history — Messages, appointments, and status changes all logged
  • Team visibility — Everyone sees the latest activity on each contact
  • Works with all SugarCRM editions — Professional, Enterprise, and others

SugarCRM is a paid platform — all editions include API access.

What You Need to Connect

SugarCRM doesn't use a simple API key. Instead, SalesPartner connects using your SugarCRM login credentials.

You'll need:

  • Your SugarCRM URL — the address of your SugarCRM instance (e.g., `https://yourcompany.sugarondemand.com`)
  • Your SugarCRM username — the email or username you use to log in
  • Your SugarCRM password — your login password

SalesPartner uses these to generate a secure connection token. Your password is used once to set up the connection and is not stored after that.

Note: If your organization uses a custom OAuth client, your admin may provide a Client ID and Client Secret instead of using the default connection. Contact your SugarCRM admin if you're unsure which approach to use.

Setting Up the Integration

  1. Open the SalesPartner app
  2. Go to SettingsIntegrations
  3. Find the SugarCRM section
  4. Toggle the switch to Enable
  5. Enter your SugarCRM URL (e.g., `https://yourcompany.sugarondemand.com`)
  6. Enter your SugarCRM username
  7. Enter your SugarCRM password
  8. Click Test Connection

If the test succeeds, you'll see your SugarCRM instance name. You're connected.

From this point, SalesPartner will log notes on your SugarCRM contacts automatically. Your password is used only to set up the connection — SalesPartner stores a secure token, not your password.

What Gets Logged

SalesPartner adds a note to the contact's SugarCRM record when:

  • A lead sends a message
  • SalesPartner replies to a lead
  • An appointment is booked or a reminder is sent
  • A contact's status changes

Each note is timestamped and includes the relevant details.

Note: The contact must already exist in SugarCRM, matched by email address. If SalesPartner can't find a matching contact, the note won't log. Make sure leads are in SugarCRM before conversations start.

Troubleshooting

Notes not appearing in SugarCRM?

  1. Integration enabled? — Go to Settings → Integrations and confirm the toggle is on.
  1. URL format correct? — Include `https://` and no trailing slash. Use the exact URL you use to log into SugarCRM.
  1. Password changed? — If you changed your SugarCRM password, you'll need to reconnect. Go to Settings → Integrations → SugarCRM and update your credentials.
  1. Contact exists? — SalesPartner matches contacts by email. If the lead's email isn't in SugarCRM, nothing logs.
  1. Account locked or inactive? — Confirm your SugarCRM user account is active and you can still log in directly.

Still stuck? Contact support with your SugarCRM URL and the time you expected a note. We can check the logs.
