Insightly Integration

Connect SalesPartner to Insightly to log notes on your contact records automatically. Keep your CRM current after every conversation.

Why Connect Insightly?

If your team tracks contacts and projects in Insightly, this keeps your records updated without manual work.

When SalesPartner talks to a lead, it logs a note directly on the matching Insightly contact record. Your team sees the full conversation history without leaving Insightly.

Finding Your API Key

Every Insightly user has a pre-assigned API key. Here's how to find yours:

  1. Log in to Insightly
  2. Click your profile icon in the top-right corner
  3. Select User Settings
  4. Scroll down to the API Key section
  5. Copy the key shown there

Your API key is unique to your user account. Keep it private — it gives SalesPartner access to your Insightly data.

Note: Your Insightly admin can enable or disable API access per user. If you don't see an API Key section, contact your admin.

Setting Up the Integration

Once you have your API key:

  1. Open the SalesPartner app
  2. Go to SettingsIntegrations
  3. Find the Insightly section
  4. Toggle the switch to Enable
  5. Paste your API key in the field
  6. Click Test Connection

If the test succeeds, you'll see your Insightly account name. You're connected.

From this point, SalesPartner will log notes on your Insightly contacts automatically.

What Gets Logged

SalesPartner adds a note to the contact's Insightly record when:

  • A lead sends a message
  • SalesPartner replies to a lead
  • An appointment is booked or a reminder is sent
  • A contact's status changes

Each note includes a title, timestamp, and the relevant details.

Note: The contact must already exist in Insightly, matched by email address. If SalesPartner can't find a matching contact, the note won't log. Make sure leads are in Insightly before conversations start.

Troubleshooting

Notes not appearing in Insightly?

  1. Integration enabled? — Go to Settings → Integrations and confirm the toggle is on.
  1. API access enabled? — Your admin controls API access per user. If the connection test fails, ask your Insightly admin to confirm API access is on for your account.
  1. Key copied correctly? — Go back to User Settings in Insightly and copy the key again. Extra spaces break it.
  1. Contact exists? — SalesPartner matches contacts by email. If the lead's email isn't in Insightly, nothing logs.
