Web Chat Widget

Add a live chat button to any website. Visitors start a chat, and the SalesPartner AI answers them in real time.

What the Chat Widget Does

The chat widget adds a chat button to the corner of your website. A visitor clicks the button, enters their contact details, and starts a chat. The SalesPartner AI answers in the chat window, qualifies the lead, and books an appointment when it is a good fit.

Why add the chat widget?

  • Works on any website — WordPress, Shopify, Wix, Squarespace, or any HTML page
  • Every chat is a lead — Visitors give their name, phone, and email before the chat starts
  • Same chat on return — A visitor who comes back on the same browser continues the same chat
  • Your branding — Colors, light or dark mode, and your own text
  • Telegram button — Optional "Chat on Telegram" link for visitors who prefer Telegram
  • Conversion tracking — Started chats count as leads in your ad platforms

Each chat creates a contact in SalesPartner. You can read the chat on the Conversations page.

How to Enable the Chat Widget

Turn on the widget in SalesPartner before you add it to your site.

  1. Open SalesPartner and go to Settings → Channels → Chat Widget
  2. Turn on Enable Chat Widget
  3. Choose your primary color and color scheme
  4. Set the header subtitle, form title, form subtitle, and start button text
  5. Click Save

Your embed code appears on this page when the widget is on. Copy it and follow the installation steps below.

Customization Options

You can change the widget in Settings → Channels → Chat Widget.

Appearance Pick a primary color for the button and header. Set the color scheme to light, dark, or automatic.

Header Subtitle The short line under your company name in the chat header, for example "Typically replies instantly."

Form Title and Subtitle The heading and instructions above the contact form that starts a chat.

Start Button Text The text on the button that starts the chat, for example "Start Chat."

Contact Form Fields Visitors enter first name, last name, phone, and email to start a chat. All four fields are required. The phone field has a country selector.

Telegram Button To show a "Chat on Telegram" button, turn it on in Settings → Channels → Telegram. The button shows only when your Telegram bot is active.

Conversion Tracking

The widget sends events to the analytics tools on your page. It finds the tools that you installed. No extra setup is necessary.

Events:

  • salespartner_chat_opened — A visitor opened the chat window
  • salespartner_chat_started — A visitor entered their details and started a chat
  • salespartner_chat_message_sent — A visitor sent a message

Analytics tools get all three events: Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Microsoft Clarity, and Segment.

Ad platforms get only the started chat, as a lead conversion:

  • Meta Pixel — Lead
  • TikTok Pixel — SubmitForm
  • ChatGPT Ads — lead_created. Create the "Lead created" conversion in your ChatGPT Ads account.
  • Google Ads — a conversion, when you enter your Google Ads Conversion ID and Conversion Label in the Chat Widget settings
  • LinkedIn — a conversion, when you enter your LinkedIn Conversion ID in the Chat Widget settings. Create the conversion in LinkedIn Campaign Manager first.

Opening the chat or sending a message never counts as a conversion. If you do not use any of these tools, nothing fires and your site is not affected.

Troubleshooting

Chat button not appearing on your site?

Check these common issues:

  1. Widget enabled? — Go to Settings → Channels → Chat Widget and make sure the widget is on.
  1. Embed code placement? — The script tag goes before </body>, not inside <head>.
  1. Company ID correct? — Make sure the ID in your embed code matches your account.
  1. Cached page? — Clear your browser cache and reload. Some hosting providers keep old pages for a long time.

Chat does not start? Make sure the visitor filled in all four fields with a valid phone number and email. Try a different browser to rule out extensions or ad blockers.

Chats not showing in SalesPartner? Check the Conversations page for the new contact. Make sure that you look at the right company account.

Styling looks wrong? The widget uses Shadow DOM for CSS isolation. Your site styles do not change the widget, and the widget does not change your site.
