Connect Any Email Provider (IMAP)
Connect Zoho, Yahoo, Fastmail, iCloud, or any IMAP-compatible inbox to SalesPartner. Includes exact server settings for popular providers and optional SMTP for sending.
When to Use This Option
Use Other Email Provider when you are connecting any inbox that is not Gmail or Microsoft 365. This includes Zoho Mail, Yahoo Mail, Fastmail, iCloud Mail, and any corporate mail server that supports IMAP.
What you get:
- IMAP (required): SalesPartner reads incoming emails and adds them to conversation timelines
- SMTP (optional): Enable sending so your assistant can reply to emails from this address
If you only need email monitoring without replies, SMTP is not required.
What You Need Before Starting
Before connecting, gather these details from your email provider:
- IMAP host and port (usually 993)
- SMTP host and port (usually 587) — only if you want sending enabled
- Your email address and password (or app password if your provider requires one)
Providers that require an app password instead of your regular password:
- Yahoo Mail — generate one at login.yahoo.com/account/security
- Fastmail — generate one in Settings > Privacy & Security > App Passwords
- iCloud Mail — generate one at appleid.apple.com under Sign-In and Security
Providers that may need IMAP enabled first:
- Zoho Mail — go to Settings > Mail Accounts > IMAP Access and enable it

Connect the Inbox in SalesPartner
In the SalesPartner admin panel, open the user you want to connect. Go to the Integrations tab and find the Connected Accounts section.
Click Add Account, then click Other Email Provider.
Fill in the form:
- Email address — the inbox address
- Display name (optional) — shown in the admin panel, for example "Support Inbox"
- IMAP host, Port, TLS — from the table above or your provider's documentation
- Username — usually your full email address (check provider notes above for exceptions)
- Password — your account password or app password
Click Test Connection to verify before saving. If the test passes, click Connect Inbox.
To add sending (SMTP): Toggle on Enable sending (SMTP) and fill in the SMTP host, port, and TLS. The SMTP username and password default to your IMAP credentials — only change them if your provider uses different values for outgoing mail.
Troubleshooting
Connection fails with correct credentials — Your provider may require an app password instead of your regular password. Check the notes for your provider above.
IMAP is disabled on your account — Zoho and some corporate providers disable IMAP by default. Enable it in your email provider's settings before connecting.
Wrong username format — iCloud uses just the name part of your address (johnappleseed) for IMAP but the full address for SMTP. Fastmail requires the full address including domain for both.
SMTP test fails but IMAP works — Check that the SMTP port and TLS setting match your provider exactly. Try port 465 if 587 fails, or vice versa.
